Speaker: Martin Weis Anniversary of 220 years since the establishment of the seminary and the beginnings of philosophical and theological studies in České Budějovice On the occasion of the 220th anniversary of the founding of the seminary in České Budějovice, we intend to commemorate the founder of the institution and the first Bishop of České Budějovice, Jan Prokop Schaffgotsch, during an academic half-hour. In this paper we will also recall the bishops of České Budějovice who came from the ranks of the graduates of the seminary from 1803 to 1950, namely Martin Josef Říha, Josef Antonín Hůlka and Miloslav Vlk.
