09:41, 24/05/2024 On Monday, 13 May 2024, the expected floorball derby between two Budweiser universities – the University of South Bohemia (JU) and the University of Technology and Economics (VŠTE) – took place in the Sports Hall in České Budějovice.
Before the start of the match, there was an autograph session with two important Czech floorball players, Tomáš Jurc and Filip Langer. This event attracted many fans who did not miss the opportunity to get autographs from their idols.
The rectors of both universities solemnly led their teams onto the playing field. Afterwards, the Mayor of České Budějovice symbolically threw the first ball, thus officially starting the match.
The first and second periods were dominated by the VŠTE team, which built a solid lead. Their precise play and tactics led to JU not being able to assert themselves for a long time. However, the situation started to change during the third period. JU managed to close the gap on their opponent and score two goals, dramatically increasing the tension in the arena. Although JU tried hard, the VŠTE team kept its lead and managed to finish the game with a win.
Around 300 fans came to watch the match, creating an exciting and electrifying atmosphere. The spectators cheered loudly for their teams and their support could be heard throughout the game.
The floorball derby between JU and VŠTE became an event that will be remembered for a long time. Not only did it offer a great sporting experience, but it also strengthened the community spirit and rivalry between the two universities. Congratulations go to the VŠTE team for their well-deserved victory, while JU deserves credit for their determination and fighting spirit, especially in the third period.
