Busking is a term for any street performance – be it musical, theatrical or even artistic. The person performing is called a busker. Most often one can encounter musical production (mostly acoustic), but one can do almost anything interesting or entertaining that people like to appreciate: acrobatics, dancing, fire or sword swallowing, juggling, magic, puppetry, pantomime, recitation, live sculptures…
Our idea is to make the city of České Budějovice come alive with street art for one day a year. Artists are scattered on almost every corner of its historic core and our festival has reached almost every resident and casual visitor of our metropolis, street artists make people’s journey from work, to work, school children from school, mothers with strollers a walk, dog walkers, …
They have the opportunity to stop for a while, watch a performance, take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. By making music, theatre and various performances sound through the whole city, we create a unique and unrepeatable – even magical – atmosphere that permeates not only the centre, but also the whole of České Budějovice.
